Valentines Day 2012!!!

Oh man oh man! What a good day!! To clear things up before I start, I DO NOT have a man right now so that's not why it was so amazing!
I've really become very ok with being single (that's just for now) ;)
So I got to sleep in which was really nice considering my crazy weekend, I needed some good sleep. So I woke up watch (listened) to the devotional and then walked out the door to head for class. There was a cute heart on the door of our apartment that had Emily's name on it, so I gave it to her and then assumed that the bag on the handle was hers too. That made me super happy for her :) you have no idea! I love that she's in a relationship! I would rather her be in one than me! So then I started walking to class and she comes out and yells, "Nicole! This one has your name on it!" I laughed as she threw me the bag. It was from my mom and said, "Enjoy your perfect man on it" love mom. Ha I had to get to class fast so I just put it in my backpack. I was going crazy the whole time walking to class because I wanted to know what was in it! My mom always does the funniest things, especially if it's for Valentines day! So once I got to my BOM class I opened it and couldn't keep from laughing out loud. She gave me a candy bar that had someones name on it, it's a huge inside joke but it had to do with what she wrote on the front (I really can't say, because my blog is not private, and I have no idea who reads it!) Then there was a bag of m&m's and 2 of my favorite doughnuts and a pair of sexy underwear (of course). It totally made my day! My mom is such a weird woman but I love her so much! Now I know where I get all my weirdness! ;) So, I went to class and stuff that day and then right after my test and 5:00 class I headed to Ash's last basketball game. It was intense (even though it really shouldn't have been, it was slightly embarrassing). They killed this team last time. Ash didn't get to play last time because she was injured, but she was fine this time. It went into over time. They ended up winning by 13 in overtime... but ya, it was just weird. I'll just say, I lost my voice. That's how good it was! Then we got some pizza and ate it at my house and I just got to sit and chat with my family.
Now don't go judging too fast, I was going to do something for my mom. I just really didn't have time. Having that 5:00 ruined everything I was going to do. It always does. I was going to get her lilies because they are a sign of the 20th anniversary and also they remind her of my dad because of the song "Consider the Lilies" and because of something very personal. So, I was planning on making her cry with those and a note and then a picture of Christ and 2 little kids looking at lilies with final lettering saying consider the lilies. Man. I was totally going to get those tears going, but life just happens I guess. I think I might still do it (and I can say this on here because I know my mother doesn't read this;)) But it's the thought that counts right?!
But anyways then I had a good talk just me and my and headed home :) it was really good :)
Oh! And both my roommates have wonderful men and I'm beyond happy for both of them! And! Emily had her first kiss yesterday!!!!! I'm seriously leaping for joy right now :) I couldn't be happier! :D

Mistakes.

Well. This week has been pretty rough for me. I haven't really had many things to do (which is weird because it is the week before finals), but emotionally, I'm on a huge roller costar (which is also weird because it's not even close to my time of the month).
To start off the week I walking into church feeling good about myself and really just loving life. Sacrament meeting hits and it seems like every single person in the room is "with someone." Great. That made me feel a little dumb and even more lonely. But I kind of put it past me for the rest of the day. But then I was talking to my friend Kailey and I just needed to vent to her about it and that just made me think about being single even more. Ugggg. Prayer is always the answer. I prayed and felt better.
But the real thing that helped me get past this really stupid thing I was worrying about (being single) was watching this random Christmas show I found on Netflix called Mrs. Miracle. It really wasn't even about love or getting over someone. For some odd reason it just made me feel ok about being single for a while. That really was the answer to my prayer, in a really weird, unexpected way. But that's just how the Lord works.
So then I was having a pretty good week, so I guess you can't say that I was having that bad of a week.
But then yesterday was when it all happened.
Ok this is kind of painful for me to talk about so I'll try and make it short...
I had to go to a simply mac class at the simply mac store because my Mom bought me some classes when I bought my Mac and I still haven't used them. So I was just planning on taking my scooter, but it was super duper cold and I didn't think I would survive. So I asked Emily if I could borrow her car for a couple of hours (ps, this was the first time that I have ever borrowed her car). As always, when I'm borrowing someone's car I make sure that I am very careful. So I went to the class and then stopped at wal-mart to pick up some things. As I was driving down that hill on University Parkway I looked down for literally a split second to change the radio (literally, ONE STUPID SECOND). I look up and the car in front of me is completely stopped. Wow. That was really quick I though. But this light was really kind of in a weird place always, right at the bottom of the hill and a lot of the times it was a quick stop. But because of that split second that I looked down I didn't have much time to stop. I slammed on the breaks, after I realized that that car wasn't going to stop I tried turning/swerving to the right (where there was no cars, I was in the right lane) so I wouldn't hit the person in front of me. Fail. I hit into the person in front of me on the right side of their bumper and they hit into the person in front of them.
I felt like it was a dream. I didn't even know what to think. Surprisingly, I didn't start balling like I did when I hit Austin's car. I think I was just in shock that it had happened, and that I was in Emily's car. My first reaction was... what just happened. But right after that I so angry with myself, probably more than I ever had been. I literally was discussed with myself and couldn't believe what I had done.
Then we moved the cars and the three of us (there were no passengers) started calling people. The first person I called, obviously was Emily. I started balling when she answered and told her what had happened. I felt like a jerk. That was one of the hardest phone calls I had ever made. She was comforting, but it didn't help because I felt like I was going to throw up. I then called my Mom and told her what had happen, balling my eyes out ( I haven't had a good cry in a while, so that might have contributed to all the tears leaving my eyes, I didn't think I had drunk that much water that day). Luckily for me she was visiting her friend in the Utah Vally Hospital so she was right around the corner.
We called the police, yata yata all that happened. But I learned a lot about the people i had hit. The girl I had hit was going to UVU and was my age. The boy was going to BYU and had just gotten back from his mission. I'm surprised they even wanted to talk to me. I felt like I was a bad guy. It was one of the worst feelings I have ever felt.
After we had gotten it all worked out, I sat in my mom's car with her and just cried and cried. I just couldn't believe myself. Everyone kept saying that it was ok and that accidents happen. I didn't care. That really didn't help me in any way. I had still done it and it was all my fault. I really don't want to drive again. And I will not be driving or borrowing anyone's car ever again. I can't imagine how I would have felt if someone had gotten hurt.
But anyways. Long, hard, emotional night. I'm glad that I was able to come back and Emily and Alyssa greeted me with a big hug, but I just balled even more. I can't even explain my emotions right now.
But the thing was this event was what really triggered all of my emotions. I just told my mom I didn't want to be here anymore and that I just wanted to come home. That actually is pretty accurate at the moment, but I know I just need to finish this semester and take a break then I will be ok.

But today was great. Sorry for all the whining. It was my last day of the semester and one of my favorite classes that I took this semester, well... that I have EVER taken was my Human Development class. I know I have said a lot about it, but the teacher is truly amazing. He ended perfectly today and really touched my heart and spirit with the things he said. But it made me realize how much my Heavenly Father loves me, and that a lot of people are way worse off than me. It humbled me greatly and was a great end to my semester.
For the past few days we have been talking about parenting. It's been great to learn about the different ways to teach children, and figure out how my parents raised me. I'm so grateful for the way that they did. I have always known how much my parents love me. It has never been a secret and they showed it, and still do. My mom is greatest Mom alive. And my Dad was/is the greatest Dad. I don't know how I got so lucky, but I don't even think I deserve them. My Mom is always there for me and helps me in ever aspect of my life and I don't think I can ever re-pay her. I just hope that one day I can grow up to be like her, if that's even possible.
But I'm just grateful for everything that has been going on this semester and how much I've learned and grown. Even if it's been hard, I know it's just for my good.
I'll write more later.
The end.

Roommates ;)

I love them! That's all I have to say!
I live with my cousin Emily, and our pal Alyssa.
Emily is on the right, Alyssa the left and Laura is in the back.
She's Alyssa's friend, but ours too and she is AMAZING as well!
Emily, Well, I've known her my whole life and we have always gotten along and been the greatest friends! It might just be because we have completely opposite personalities. She's very passive (a trait I wish I had) and pretty shy. I love her more than anything and our relationship has really grown has cousins and friends since we have been living together! I don't know what I would do without her! She is amazing and always keeps me on track and gives me someone to talk to and laugh with :) (our favorite thing is Julian Smith, and Psych, and occasionally the office, we laugh very very hard) Plus her family is just amazing and I love them so much too! Plus, I drag her everywhere with me and she never complains but I love spending time with her! Annnnnnnnnd Emily has the cutest smile! Her laugh brightens my day and makes me smile! :) Plus, she always gives me life lessons and wonderful advice that I will never forget! :D
Alyssa I didn't know before. Karla (my aunt and Emily's Mom and the one that owns our condo) works with Alyssa's Mom and she found out through her that Alyssa was looking for a place to stay. Alyssa got back from her mission a little bit before school started. She went to the Independence Missouri mission. She is AMAZING! I loved her from the time that I met her! She's so kind and close to the spirit. She has helped me many time with random things I need to know especially if it pertains to the gospel. I can always ask her if she can tell me a scripture that has to do with whatever and she without fail always has one and it's just what I need! I feel like I can talk to her about anything and she will tell me truthfully without fail and I LOVE that about her. She's also helped me a lot with guy problems and has helped me see the bigger picture and I can't thank her enough for that!
All in all I love my roommates! I couldn't have asked for anyone better! They lift me up and make me who I am through this changing time in my life :) I just can't believe how Heavenly Father puts people into our lives for different reason to help us along our path. I can now see parts of the reasons that these two great people are in my life at this time. They help me more than they will ever know!
LOVE YOU GUYS!

True Blue Football :D

So yesterday me and my roommate/cousin Emily did something very very exciting.
Last week was BYU's homecoming and they had a lot of activities going on. But there was one I especially wanted to go to, and that was the true blue football. I was super excited, but then come to find out, it was cancelled because it was super duper cold that day. So, they postponed it until the next Wednesday.
The weather was actually really good yesterday which made it really fun because it wasn't so cold!
So, this is how it went.
We got in a line and they had us sign a waiver (I'm not even going to lie, I don't know what I signed, I just wanted to get started!) and then gave us a wrist band. Then we walked in and waited in the line for the giant slip n' slide. We probably waited in line close to 25min. It was totally worth it!
Well, first, we made friends because of my Psych phone case (yep, that's how I make most of my friends) they were standing in line by us. So we talked with them and ate free ice cream sandwiches while waiting. Then because I am such a good observer I noticed that people who already had a bunch of foam on them went faster down the slip n' slide. So, me and Emily ran over to the big sea of foamy goodness where there was tug o' war and a person holding the hose of blue foam and played in it for a little bit and then went back to our spots.
They had a tub of goggles you could put on before you went down. That was nice, besides the fact that afterwords when you play in it you get it all in your eyes anyways.
So, I took a big long run and slid face first into the blue foam. IT WAS AWESOME! I went so fast and was being completely covered in foam as I went down. (Like literally, you couldn't even see the people when they went down, it was like a big soft blue blanket)
Problem, it was almost too long of a slip n' slide. I could' breathe once I got to the bottom. You are covered in foam. If someone was just walking they would step on you because it was so deep.
So I had to breathe once I got down so I took in a ugh breath and swallowed a bunch of foam.
It tasted nasty.
But it was sooooooooo worth it!
Emily came down the slide sitting up with her head out. Hahaha I laughed pretty hard. I'm not going to lie, it looked like a big party with a bunch of drunken people. We all just were falling and laughing so hard.
But anyways then we played some more in the foam. The foam they just had everywhere was up to my knees! Ahhhhhhh! I want to do it again! It was so much fun!
Then we walked home carrying our shoes and covered in blue foam. Plus, our faces were dyed blue from the coloring in the foam. We got some long confused stares. It was hilarious. Haven't people seen weirder stuff in their life!? ;)
Oh, but they did have a giant hose going that you could wash yourself off in, but we just wanted to walk home with it on and just shower so we weren't even more cold.
We got home and showered. Ever piece of clothing I owed was blue. Hahahahaha I'm not going to lie, I had yellow underwear on. They turned COMPLETELY green. So cool.
It all came out in the wash though!
Oh man I'm totally doing it again next year :)
Then we did some homework, when and got shakes, and waited until 11:00 to watch Psych. :) BUt we watched part of Pinocchio before.
Good day :)
And Psych was AMAZING! :D
The end
