The end of the road...

More pics to come!

Here we go!
Right now my emotions literally are... flat... if that's how you say it... I really just don't think that everything has set in yet. Or maybe I'm just relieved... I'm not quite sure yet.
But here's how the pageant went.
The night before was a little crazy. Maybe a little tears, but not for the reasons that you are thinking and lots of headaches and craziness.
The morning of the pageant was completely crazy as well. My mom was helping Christina fix her dress, but then she ended up wearing a different dress anyways. But I was so tired from having a "slumber party" with my mom. We stayed up till 3:30 talking like either a married couple (not in a weird way, just about my sisters and things, my mom just needed someone to talk to about things like that so she always tells me everything. I just really love that I can be there for her and that I have a great relationship with her so he trusts me and wants my advice) or like a couple of teenage girls (maybe just a tad bit more mature though).
So I felt like I was going to fall asleep while standing the whole day... that didn't help everything that was going on. But we got through the dress rehearsal and all the girls did AMAING! I just couldn't wait! Everyone kept asking me if I was nervous. To tell you the truth, I really wasn't. I didn't get to nervous before the pageant last year either, and that was a lot more intimidating. But I didn't feel too good about my piano piece when I was practicing... I didn't have a ton of time to practice, so... yep...
Then just a bunch of craziness in the middle before I had to be there. I had to get all my stuff ready and organized plus take a shower, get my hair and make up done, practice piano, eat, and breathe. It was a lot less time then I had anticipated.
But we got it all done in time, barely. I got there and we got some last min stuff done before.
My first outfit was slighty awesome. We decided on the day of the pageant that I should go with the 50's theme. So I wore my short pink dress with the white ribbon in my hair and around my waist. Then I had my hair curly in a hight pony tail with my crown and some awesome pink and white sparkly converse :) I have to say, I think people thought I was a nut/awesome.
Oh ya, so I was able emcee the whole think with Mike (a member of the city counsel). It was pretty fun, but sort of awkward because there was only one mic.
My second outfit was a black dress that I had original planned on wearing for the talent but the day of the pageant again I decided to switch for some different reasons. But I wore them with some super cute pink shoes. I failed at my piece, but that's ok! I have some excuses.... that are pretty legit... I think ;)
The last outfit I wore was a teal dress that is actually Ash's dress. It is beautiful and I felt pretty amazing in it. ;)
But after my walk (which was completely lame I'm not going to lie. But we won't even talk about that) I actually had Kirah (the one that originally won) come up and I recognized her. I'm such a weirdo, but I started crying for some reason! Why? I have no clue. I swore I wouldn't. But just all the emotions of everything came down on me and It was hard to handle. But, oh well! Hahaha I did feel pretty stupid though.
Alayna Woodhouse won Miss. Saratoga Springs 2012.
Ashley Ottoson won 1st attendant.
Koryssa Farr won 2nd attendant.
I am so happy for all of them :) they are going to have a way fun year!
I feel relived and sad at the same time. It's kind of weird.
But... surprise! I might be doing another pageant this April! Ok, I will be if I'm one of the first girls to turn in my papers.
It's called days of 47'. I'm super excited because this is for sure my kind of pageant. I don't know much about it, but my grandma told me about it and she's really excited for me to do it as well :)
More to come on that later!
But over all I had an amazing night even thought I feel like I completely failed at everything I know the girls had a good time. Plus, I'm super proud of Christina :) she did AMAZING! I'm glad she had a good time and I loved watching her :) Thanks to everyone that came and supported me! It was so great to have all my family and friends there for me, as they always are! Love you guys!
THE END! For now....

A Crazy Crazy Week...

So last week I didn't really have much time to write. I had a lot of fun, but I also had a lot to do. I worked about 12 hours (this is not an exaggeration) on this slide show for Miss. Saratoga. I don't even want to go into depth of why it took so long, but it was crazy. Basically, I wanted to cry and throw something at someone. But then I also got to hang with friends this weekend. I also had a work shop on Saturday for the pageant where I had to sit in interviews. It was crazy! I can't imagine judging all of these great talented girls!
This week needs to go by fast, but slow. I don't want my time as Miss. Saratoga Springs to be over, but I'm so excited for Saturday that I just can't wait! It's going to be amazing! But really emotional and sad as well. So this week I've got a bunch of stuff with school (2 tests, luckily they are already over) and pageant stuff. I'm going crazy! Plus, I'm not going do hot in school so that just makes everything worse.
But really, I'm not complaining :) I'm actually loving my life right now! I'm being kept busy and having a fun time. :) So that's all. Nothing much to tell :) But I'll write all about the pageant when I get the chance :)

Twilight, Basketball, Dating, and Abe Lincoln

This week has been a pretty fun/crazy one!
On Wednesday I got to hangout with Christina and party! We ate McDonald's, ate cold stone, and watched Breaking Dawn (I know,  I REALLY do hate those things, but I just had to know the ending...). It was super fun to spend time with her and just be able to talk :)
Later that night... ya, I watched it again. Don't judge. I just didn't understand it the first time because we were talking the whole time and then Emily watched it with me the second time so I asked a lot of questions (if you really think about it, that movie doesn't make a whole lot of sense for people who haven't read the book). I have read the first 3 books. But, honestly, I don't remember them even a little bit. Sorry for those Twilight Fans. I really don't like the books or movies at all. They bore me, and they have been made into a big deal over nothing. Harry Potter, ya I like Harry Potter and I can understand that. But I just don't really think Twilight was very well written and the story line is... ya I don't know. Sorry for the rambling moment. To be clear, I do not hate people who are obsessed with it :) ha, they just make me laugh.
On Thursday I went to my cousin Katie's last basketball game. She is a senior so it was her senior night. She played AMAZING! I haven't gotten to see her play much, so it was fun to go to the last game! Plus, I got to see my cousin Levi dance, see Nate's basketball fingers (he's the next Jimmer, I promise you), and talk to my Aunt Natalie and Uncle Dale :)
Then I just went home and talked on the phone with Zach :)
Friday I went to my dress fitting which went amazing :) it's perfect! Then I cleaned the house and went to the men's volleyball game on a double date with my cousin and her boyfriend:) That was a blast and we totally WON! Then we went to get frosty's and headed back to our place and watched Harry Potter :)
Saturday. This was the greatest day! I slept in till 12:45pm! Apparently my body really needed some serious sleep because I went to be at 2:00 the night before and now that I think of it, I really didn't get that much sleep this week. I just needed some catch up. So that was great. Then I got ready. Studied with Tanner and then we headed to a concert. It was AMAZING! It was an orchestra concert that we went to see for our Music class, but we ended up loving it! Then we ate this delicious crepe (oreo creme, SOOOOOO good!) and watched Money Ball at my house. It was super fun :)
Sunday.... well that's today. I went to my church at 8:30 and then Jackie texted me and said she wanted me to come to one of her missionaries homecoming.
Ok. This requires an explanation. So he was one of her missionaries because he had broken his thumb in the MTC so they wouldn't send him to his mission in Romania until he was healthy. So he just served with 2 other missionaries in Eagle Mountain while he was recovering. We were lucky enough to meet him. Jackie wrote him on his mission so he wanted her to come to the homecoming because he's from Salt Lake.
So we went to that. Ha, we were a little late. For some reason the address on Facebook wasn't right. Luckily the church was right around where the weird address lead us too so we just asked a nice man shoveling his driveway where the church was. IT WAS TOTALLY MEANT TO BE!
It was great! 2 of her other missionaries were there so she was just beaming the whole time. She was having the time of her life with them. I think she was wishing that she could have gone back to that great time :)
After we went to the luncheon at his house and had fun laughing with the missionaries.
Then me and Jackie went to her old young women leaders house and laughed and talked for a while. Then, we went to Austin's house and played games and watched TV shows. Oh, and worked out apparently, I'm pretty strong I can bench 80 pounds! That's pretty good for someone who hasn't lifted in a while!
Then I went to my families amazing family night. Abe Lincoln came and talked to us! Ha it was funny, informational, and spiritual all at the same time. It was fun to see my family and have a good time :)
Well, sorry for the boring update :) I had a fabulous week even if that doesn't sound like much :)

Valentines Day 2012!!!

Oh man oh man! What a good day!! To clear things up before I start, I DO NOT have a man right now so that's not why it was so amazing!
I've really become very ok with being single (that's just for now) ;)
So I got to sleep in which was really nice considering my crazy weekend, I needed some good sleep. So I woke up watch (listened) to the devotional and then walked out the door to head for class. There was a cute heart on the door of our apartment that had Emily's name on it, so I gave it to her and then assumed that the bag on the handle was hers too. That made me super happy for her :) you have no idea! I love that she's in a relationship! I would rather her be in one than me! So then I started walking to class and she comes out and yells, "Nicole! This one has your name on it!" I laughed as she threw me the bag. It was from my mom and said, "Enjoy your perfect man on it" love mom. Ha I had to get to class fast so I just put it in my backpack. I was going crazy the whole time walking to class because I wanted to know what was in it! My mom always does the funniest things, especially if it's for Valentines day! So once I got to my BOM class I opened it and couldn't keep from laughing out loud. She gave me a candy bar that had someones name on it, it's a huge inside joke but it had to do with what she wrote on the front (I really can't say, because my blog is not private, and I have no idea who reads it!) Then there was a bag of m&m's and 2 of my favorite doughnuts and a pair of sexy underwear (of course). It totally made my day! My mom is such a weird woman but I love her so much! Now I know where I get all my weirdness! ;) So, I went to class and stuff that day and then right after my test and 5:00 class I headed to Ash's last basketball game. It was intense (even though it really shouldn't have been, it was slightly embarrassing). They killed this team last time. Ash didn't get to play last time because she was injured, but she was fine this time. It went into over time. They ended up winning by 13 in overtime... but ya, it was just weird. I'll just say, I lost my voice. That's how good it was! Then we got some pizza and ate it at my house and I just got to sit and chat with my family.
Now don't go judging too fast, I was going to do something for my mom. I just really didn't have time. Having that 5:00 ruined everything I was going to do. It always does. I was going to get her lilies because they are a sign of the 20th anniversary and also they remind her of my dad because of the song "Consider the Lilies" and because of something very personal. So, I was planning on making her cry with those and a note and then a picture of Christ and 2 little kids looking at lilies with final lettering saying consider the lilies. Man. I was totally going to get those tears going, but life just happens I guess. I think I might still do it (and I can say this on here because I know my mother doesn't read this;)) But it's the thought that counts right?!
But anyways then I had a good talk just me and my and headed home :) it was really good :)
Oh! And both my roommates have wonderful men and I'm beyond happy for both of them! And! Emily had her first kiss yesterday!!!!! I'm seriously leaping for joy right now :) I couldn't be happier! :D
<3

Happy 20th Anniversary!

Yesterday (Valentines Day) was my Mom and Dad's 20th wedding Anniversary! Wow! 20 years (just think, that means only 14 more months till this girl turns 20!!!!!!???? Sorry, bad reality check)! I know if he was still here that they would be as happy as ever :)

Sorry there is a huge hole in the top... it hangs on my bulletin board in my room :)

I always remembered Valentines day being a fun family day. Even though it was always their Anniversary and Valentines day they would ALWAYS spend it with us. We would wake up to candies, cups, toys and a yummy breakfast every Valentines Day. We all knew it was their Anniversary so some years when we were older we would attempted to do fun things for them like make a special dinner, clean up the house, or decorate the house. Most of the time, I'm sure it failed and everything went wrong. But, I know they appreciated it and loved us :) but they never went out 1 because it was always so busy, and 2 they just wanted to spend it with us. But I remember one particular year, my Dad couldn't walk, I think he had just recently be handicapped and he wanted to do something special for my mom. So, my wonderful Aunt Debra (my Dad's sister) took my Dad out and helped him pick out a ring to give to my mom, and then she had them over for dinner at her house that night (because you know, they didn't like to go out). He picked out a beautiful ring that actually said "Love" when you turned it to it's side looking underneath the diamonds. My mom loved it, of course, especially because he couldn't just go and get it on his own, it was a little bit harder then that. So they ate at my aunts house privately, and I wasn't there of course, but I know that they had a great time :) Plus, my aunt was so sweet to make dinner for them on Valentines Day. I know my mom will forever remember that special night. My Dad was such a sweetheart to her. They loved each other more than anything and you could always tell. Even the way that they looked at each other was special and precious. I'm so grateful that I have such a great example for a husband and Dad! Plus, I also have a great example for exactly what I want to be when I grow up, just like my mom and dad. And, I won't settle for anything less then the love that my mom and dad had :) I won't mind waiting a little bit longer for my perfect man (not someone perfect, just someone perfect in my eyes)
Aren't I just the luckiest girl in the world? How did I get the best parents in the world? :D

Random thoughts Feb 13

I'm so glad that I am not in High School anymore. That's all. I like being in college. Although it's hard... really hard. It's totally worth it and I don't mind being old. People always say it goes by so fast and so you should enjoy the moment. Well I sure am! But don't judge me, but I would also get married (this is not because it is the day before Valentines Day I swear!). The single life is great and fun, but I've also had a lot of fun so whatever happens, happens! So that's how I'm going to look at life and just do what I want to be doing right now! Not trying to sound selfish...
Speaking of selfish.... I'm done with this whole "all about me" deal. That's the only person I have to worry about right now because apparently I'm in college and that's what you are supposed to do. It's so boring, and I want to be worried or thinking about someone else right now... I'm done only thinking about myself.
That's the end of my random thoughts :)

SUU trip!

WARNING! This post is like a story book! Be prepared for words and pictures!
I had so much fun in SUU this weekend! It all went perfectly until yesterday... but I'll get to that later!
So I headed down Friday after my class. Scratch that. I met up with my mom so I could take the car down and we wanted to stop at this place (Veronica Michaels) to look at dress because the pageant is coming up FAST! So we stopped, thinking we were just going to look. I ended up trying on a million dresses. But then... I found THE ONE! Yes! It was so beautiful! I'm not going to tell you about it, you'll just have to wait and see! So we were there a while, but I got it fitted and added sleeves (of course) and then I was off.
The drive was fine. I actually got there pretty fast so that was nice. I had never driven that far on my own but I kind of liked it! I got to pick the music and sing the whole time at the top of my lungs! Great time! So I got there met up with Jackie and her friend and settled in.
We then met up with some other girls and our friend Cristina to go an see The Vow. I loved it! It was so much fun, and a way good movie!!! Jackie didn't like it as much. It did have high expectations, and it didn't meet them completely, but I loved it anyways! Channing Tatum.... yes ;)
Then we went home and changed and went to wal mart. We were going there to get some stuff for mustaches so we could be creepers but ended up staying longer then expected..... because...... there was a Twilight/Breaking Dawn party because the movie came out! YAY! NOT! Ew I hate those things but there was free food so we decided that we could stay a little bit longer ;) you know us! So we ate a bunch of cupcakes and brownies and stuff...
We got a lot of weird looks... the funny thing was I got some frosting up my nose and it was red so I blew out and it shot out my nose and then I couldn't get it out of my nose! Then it looked like a bloody nose!!!! ;) Ah! So funny though! Then we decided we wanted to ride the rides and play the games in the little "fun center." We got some more weird looks.... because Jackie was screaming and we were riding the little ride that we were WAY too big for! It was a blast! And for the record, I'd like to say that I TOTALLY beat Jackie at the game she said she could beat me at! YA!!!

Then we talked and partied all night. :)

PS, this is at 2:00pm... hahaha then for the rest of our day our eating schedule was messed up!

The next day we made some yummy french toast! We kept forgeting stuff at the store so we had to go back!
Then we did our hair and went and ate at this yummy Hawaiian place! (This was at 5:00, lunch)

This is a cougar print and a t-bird print ;) clever

Straw up my nose!

White chip (me) and... the other one... I think.... Jackie...
Then we went to the basketball game. Let's just say, I'm glad I got to BYU and that we have to be sportsman like ;) I'm scared of other school's!!
That was pretty fun though!
Then we partied again and ate at Chili's at 10:00 for dinner ;)

Then on Sunday Jackie gave her talk. I helped her and told her to share this scripture (Mosiah 18:10) that the missionaries told her to read when she was deciding whether or not to get baptized. Then she told her conversion shortened and then bear her testimony. She did just that and did so amazing! The old people loved her! Oh, ps she did it with a couple of people in her ward at an old person's home :) one in the back even kept saying "that's so cool!" They all came up and hugged her after. Literally, they loved her!
Then we took a nap and went to a really amazing fireside! The guy that talked was so great. Then I headed home.

Here's the story. I was heading home. Before I left I had a small feeling that I should just stay because of the weather (because you know it was really snowy), but I decided to go. Right when I started I started feeling un-easy, the roads were icy and had some snow on them. I decided to keep trucking through. Then I kept seeing ambulances and car flipped on the side of the road. Ya. No. I was in the middle of a blizzard! It scared me so so so much! Ah! Holy Cow! So I called my mom, I just started balling because I was terrified. So for like an hour we decided what I should do (Oh this was all happening in the parking lot in Beaver because I didn't want to keep driving) so my family prayed for me and I prayed as well. We all decided that I should just stay in a hotel in Beaver for the night and continue in the morning  when the roads were better. So my mom called and booked me a hotel (because I'm not 21, stupid). So I stayed in a hotel all by myself in a really scary place that I was told to never stop at on my way to Vegas...
Let's just say, I prayed a lot and in the morning the roads were perfect and clear and I was able to get home with no problem. Yes, I missed my Monday classes, again. But I felt very safe and I don't know what would have happened if I had continued on, even though I was being very safe!
I had a blast with Jackie and Cristina in Cedar and I'm so proud of her and love her to death!
And I'm grateful for my mom and sisters for always being there for me and helping me when I do dumb things! Love you guys!!!! :D
The End! :)
